top tip for thursday.......

I thought I would share with you a wonderful discovery .....

this was not my discovery, oh no, but was passed on to me by

my lovely sister and made me smile with delight.....

for I am often needing to mark fabric so that I know where

to sew or where to place little odds and ends and so, in the past

I have used a water soluable pen or other similar implement to help

me with 'getting it just right'......

well, a few weeks ago my sister introduced me to the

frixion pen........

you can draw all over the fabric in a good strong black colour

that doesn't fade and then, as if by magic, when you put a

warm iron over it, it disappears as if it was never there......

genius.....

it is really quite clever.......

another nice thing about them is that they are refillable

so you don't need to buy a whole new pen every time

they run out..... just get a new cartridge, pop it in and

bob's your uncle...... 

I realise that it has its limitations........ for example when

I was recently making one of my bags I had to make sure I avoided

ironing over the markings I had made on the fabric before

I had finished putting it all together.......

that would have resulted in too much guess work for

my simple brain to have to cope with.....
