this year......

during the month of december last year I decided
to do what I affectionately referred to as an
'instagram advent' over on my other
happy place.......

I decided that this would involve taking a photo
each day during december using instagram
 {though I realise now that I did miss out one day..... oops}
which would capture a moment, a memory or a tradition that
is meaningful for us as a family.....

it was a simple idea really and I have to admit that I
really enjoyed doing it and have since had a quick
'flick back through' the images and enjoyed them
a second time round.......

it got me to thinking that I would like to take a photo
each day during this year and make a record of 2014
in much the same way......

there were a few things I needed/wanted it to be......
I needed it to be quick, I wanted it to be digital
{because I am too lazy to print out photos and do journalling by hand},
I wanted it to be just for me {no followers or public postings}
and I wanted it to be instant......
then I found bokeh which is a lifeblogging app and
decided that, for this year at least, it was how I was going
to record my memories......

I've been using it now since january 1st and have
really enjoyed capturing a moment
{or two or three} from each day.......
sometimes I just grab the iPad to capture an image,
so it's quick and instant,  other times I use an
image I've captured on my 'big girls camera' which
I then transfer and upload......

the photos are often of just ordinary, run-of-the-mill, day-to-day life stuff
{which, let's be honest, is what about 95% what my life looks like}
but already I am enjoying glancing back and reminding myself
of things that have already happened this year......
and there are more HUGE changes ahead for us, so there shouldn't
be any shortage of photos to take or things to write about.....

and in other news....... dottie was here for the day yesterday
and we spent the whole day sewing
{and eating and drinking coffee and chatting and
umming and ahhing over difficult measurements
and 'ways of doing things' with handbag hardware}
and we each made a new bag....
I am just waiting for my strap to arrive so I can attach it
and then I will give you a little gander at the finished article.....
