happy before Christmas......

when I was young my mum would often give me a
'happy-before-Christmas' gift.....

I think she couldn't bear all the waiting for

the actual day and so would give me something

in advance just to keep her excitement in check.....

well, my daughter received a

'happy-before-Christmas' gift

from auntie dottie last week.....

her VERY OWN little vintage sewing machine.....

{it's a darling of a machine and the sides all fold up to 

become its carry case and under the cover on the top

is a plethora of gadgets and gizmos for the discerning seamstress.....}

she was over-the-moon excited, as you can imagine.....

she had a good old fiddle with the dials and buttons and

then busily got some things together to make herself a 

little zippered bag for all her nail polish......

 

she is such a girl after my own heart....

she has plans for a little sewing nook in her

new attic bedroom with a sewing table 

all of her own.....
