Sometimes it all ends in disaster.....
OK, well not quite disaster as in 'DISASTER' but still not quite what I expected.
I got some wool from the op-shop, nice aubergine 100% wool and thought "can't pass up a bargain like that" (50c a ball no less!!)
Found a pattern I really liked on Ravelry for a bucket style hat that took exactly two balls of wool and then needed to be felted down to size.....
Perfect.....
Spent two evenings crocheting my little heart out..... oh how I love crocheting....
Put it into a 95 degree wash this morning with a number of other bits and bobs that needed a good hot wash and ......
NOTHING HAPPENED!!!! Gasp....
The wool didn't felt...... must have been some sort of not-on-your-nelly kind of non-felting stuff because 95 degrees should've done SOMETHING.....
The up-side is, because there was no felting happening in my washing machine this morning, I was able to rip out the hat (which Isaac likened to the hood they would have put over a persons head before they hanged him.....) and I have decided to do a 'twirly scarf' instead...... so there!
Will get round to a picture or two when I happen to finish something successfully, not that I mind posting pictures of my disasters, no at all, but I had ripped it out so quickly that there wasn't a chance to take a photo.....
Have a fun day ....
