we moved into our new home a couple of weeks ago now,
but unfortunately the telecommunications people don't seem
to be able to keep up with our pace and it has taken 12 days,
yes, 12 DAYS, for the telephone line to be switched over and
the internet to be functioning......
I have to admit to having been a little giddy the other day when
we finally 'got connected'.......
I realised just how much I actually use the internet for lots of
little daily jobs.......
for catching up with people......
for checking stuff out.......
as a learning tool for home-ed......
but now we are back in the land of the
'high speed internet connection'
and starting to catch up with things we have missed
over the last two weeks.......
so what did we get up to during our sojourn from
cyber world?......
well, as I mentioned, we moved into our new home....
here, have a look.......
the top picture is of the front of the main building that makes up
the community in which we live.....
built in the 1850's, it was an asylum until about 30 years ago
when it was converted into houses and apartments.....
directly opposite that main building is a big field where the children
can play and romp to their hearts content {they've been flying kites
and throwing frisbees most days and I enjoy the fact that they can
just take themselves off for an hour or so and enjoy the great outdoors}....
the bottom picture was taken at sunset from one of evie's bedroom windows....
she has the nicest room in the house..... right up in the attic......
the vista from the other window includes Glastonbury Tor......
so this is our view from round the back of those imposing main buildings......
it is such a lovely place to live...... countryside all around us and only a
mile and a half {2kms} into the city centre, which we can walk to along a
great path leading us along the edge of Tor Woods and around the
Bishops Palace complete with moat and mute swans who ring a bell
to be fed......
we are still waiting for our 'stuff' to arrive so the 'making and crafting' of
things has taken a bit of a back seat....... instead we have been creatively
arranging the stones we picked up from a recent beach trip along the
windowsill........
not forgetting the crab shell........
and evie {as one who cannot be held down when it comes to
the making of things} decided to make the sock monkey
from the kit she was given at Christmas........
this is alberta and she is patiently waiting for albert to arrive
{he is in our shipment, along with a million other soft toys.....
no doubt having a whale of a time and partying late into the night}.......
we've also had evie playing us lovely music on her flute at
all times of the day...... which has been beautiful......
so there we are..... 'connected' once again and patiently awaiting
the arrival of my familiar 'bits and bobs' of goodness....
