i've been on a mission...... making little birds......
with some buttons and 'spring like' fabric thrown in there too.....
a bit of organza ribbon, a touch of running stitch and 'bob's-your-uncle' -
a little crafty activity for a 'craft & canape' night......
now I just have to cut out 60 more little birdy shapes,
120 wings and 30 fabric tail gussets and I'll be all set......
***********
in other news, it was mother's day here in ol' blighty yesterday
and I was treated in a right royal fashion.......
my beautiful daughter -
who love, love, loves to cook and bake as well as craft -
made dinner......
smoked salmon terrine with avocado cream, roasted hazelnuts
and baby coriander leaves.....
followed by a roasted bell pepper stuffed with tomato and basil rice with shredded
pan fried chicken and a sprinkling of feta cheese, with roasted veggies (my favourite)
and potatoes roasted in goose fat.......
it was DELICIOUS.....
and it was planned, cooked and presented with such a huge amount of love........
what more could a mum ask for.........
and here is Evie having a good ol' ride on 'holly'.....
she is so delighted to have been reunited with holly horse
recently having had a three and a half year sabbatical.....
however, she informs me that holly has shrunk somewhat during
her time away......
oh my darling girl..... you are too sweet for words......

Your Purl Bee birds look lovely with the Liberty fabric on the wings. I had a go making those a couple of Christmasses ago but felt the double layer of felt on the wings made them a little thick. Your solution is very sweet.
