week two......

I got to spend some time with this little poppet.....

{great nieces are pretty great}.......

complete with her red painted toenails.......

and all that jazz.......

and I spent my birthday lazing around in the sunshine 

with lots of lovely friends, 

watching {and cheering on} 

our kids at the annual home-edders sports day.......

there were lots of traditional 'sports' to take part in.......

like the sack race.......

the piggy back race......

running races.......

and wellie wanging........

it's such a lovely thought that I have known a lot of these

children since they were quite small and they have grown

before my very eyes..... 

getting bigger year by year......

it is also lovely to meet and make new friends every year

as people join our home-edding group.....

and it was fun today to watch my daughter and her best friend

make blackcurrant cordial from some blackcurrants that her

friend's mum gave to us......

there was only enough to make one bottle of cordial so they

split the bounty and will share the spoils......

what a beautiful colour it turned out.......

{and it was pretty tasty too}......

and the one make of the week for me?
a handy, dandy cushion to sit on our new
outdoor chairs....... so that I can spend
even more time sitting outdoors in the sun
without my derriere getting numb....

I picked the fabric up from ikea a couple of weeks ago
and on thursday morning, when I finally got it out to start
making the comfy cushions, I said to brian
'won't this be a great fabric for the cushions on the outdoor chairs?'.....
to which he replied, 'no, I don't like it'.....
just like that....
'phffff, what does he know?' I asked myself.....
I am a fan, and my derriere is thanking me.....
