I have found a little project for taking away with me
on our AMAZINGLY long drive.......
{I am aware that my Aussie friends may not think
that a 5,000km round trip is a particularly long one.......
they may not gasp in disbelief that we would
attempt such a drive in a little toyota yaris,
with a tiny four person dome tent as our
attempt such a drive in a little toyota yaris,
with a tiny four person dome tent as our
sleeping quarters for at least 18 nights,
and a single ring gas burner for emergency cookouts......
keep in mind however, that although
I have lived here for 3 years, my roots are still very
British, where a journey of more than 2 hours is
considered 'quite some distance'.....}
it's a knitting project, a small, cute, irresistible
little person size doll......
and I know a couple of small, cute, irresistible
little people that I would quite like to knit one of these for.....
you can check it out here ......
Tina {the lady who made the above pattern} has
got a few very sweet patterns for various dolls
in her etsy shop if you enjoy a spot of
dolly knitting.....
have a look - there's even a gnome and a
woodland fairy.... with pointy ears and wings!
I shall also be taking along, and adding to, my
hexie blanket whilst we are away......
it's ok, there is method in my madness for taking
a woolly blanket on a big road trip that promises to be full
of beautiful warm sunny weather and blue skies......
I figure there could possibly be a chilly evening moment
or two and in that moment I can whip out my blanket
{which neatly covers my knees now}
and sit with it on my lap while I hook a hexie or two.....
good thinking eh?
I also plan on taking my sketch book, journals, paints,
pencils and other bits-and-bobs for doodling and
drawing and noting-things-of-note in.......
and finally I have gathered together a little pile
of books with which to while away an hour
or two......
Brian has hinted that perhaps we could share
the driving.......
not on your nelly said I, I have far too much
to be doing to contemplate driving......
