things that caught my eye.....

I love spending a little time each day browsing various
places on this amazing place called the internet.....
it inspires me......
it challenges me......
it makes me smile.......
{and it even makes me cry sometimes}.......

but some things caught my eye this week which I
felt were worthy of sharing because I thought
they were beautiful.....

now I know that beauty is a very subjective thing
and you may not agree with my idea of what is
beautiful but that's ok, we don't all need to see
beauty in the same things......

 anyhoo, here goes......

these crochet flowers caught my eye
and made me look twice..... aren't they just stunning.....

Oktober 2012 259

I really want to have a go at making some of these soon......
and there are a couple of other lovely crocheted
beauties on this blog too, and I plan to work
my way through them.....
{that is, if the translation button works......
my norwegian is a bit rusty these days......}

and this blanket......
oh, this blanket......

{sorry I couldn't find a link to the original webpage for this blanket so I am unable to attribute
grateful thanks and many gushy noises of gorgeousness to the maker I'm afraid}

isn't it just divine......
love the very limited colour choices
and the way they sit together so beautifully......
I now want one of those on my sofa.....
maybe in cotton.....
for the summer.......
oh yes, that's what I'm talking about......

oh, and on the subject of woolly things
the wool warehouse are having a rather fabby sale
on a number of their wools/yarns including lots
of luscious Drops wools......
I've bought some already but may need to go back
for more now that I have some ideas in my head......

I also spied this lovely idea for a bracelet/necklace
which I thought could be a great gift for both the guys
and gals.....

Personalised Silver Bracelets

it's called a 'storyteller bracelet' and you can personalise
the details that are stamped onto the silver links so they
tell your 'story'........

you can find these lovely bracelets {and more} here.......

and finally, for today, I wanted to share with you something
that was a feast for the eyes and for the tummy too.....
cheesecake cupcakes with salted caramel topping......

Salted Caramel Cheesecake Cupcakes | Cooking Classy

you can find the recipe for these scrummy-looking
mouthfuls of goodness right here.......

right oh, I'm off to have morning tea with a slice
of rather delicious date, apple and walnut loaf * that
my boy baked for us yesterday and which is nearly
all gone..... already......
{want to make sure I get at least one more slice
before it vanishes.....}

* if you are interested, the cake is a delia smith
recipe from her complete illustrated cookery course book
which is one of the only cookery books I own......
that and a 1955 good housekeeping one.....
they keep me straight..... *
