I put the canvas on the deck, gave her some pieces of cut up toilet tubes and let her get on with it.
It was so lovely to watch the process of her making pictures and, as she HATES messy art (unlike another little girl I know who can't get enough of the messy sort of art) this was a good, clean alternative! I had to laugh though because when I was having a go I was told, in no uncertain terms, that I couldn't possibly put 'that there' because it didn't work!
We moved things round a bit but generally the end result looked like a flower or two (she does have a thing for flowers!)
Now I am imagining some very cool art made out of toilet roll innards!

Smart little daughter of yours to do what she likes with toilet rolls and do it well. My son did not like mess either but he now is my oldest son on my blog . He now is a website designer for people and all his years of accomplishments as bing an art Director and Advertisement .he still is loving it. So your daughter may well be heading that path when she gets older like my son started at her age..
