A new skirt for Evie...

When Dot and I went into Melbourne a few weeks ago we saw a fantastic reversible skirt which we both thought was good looking and a really simple design. I thought I would love to have a go at making a similar one, first for Evie (to test out my VERY sketchy plan!!) and then one for me! I have to admit to never having made a proper piece of clothing before and not having any clue about things like darts to shape a waist etc, so this really was trial and error (quite a lot of error!) However, I was really happy with the result..... and so was Evie!

The fabrics I used were raspberry coloured cotton cord for one side and a butterfly and ladybird print cotton for the other (which Evie chose from my stash). Pink polkadot buttons finished the piece. I guess I need to work out how to enlarge this enough for me now..... and maybe learn how to do darts in an easier fashion!

I love this skirt. Can I have the pattern or at least a rough sketch so I can make one too!
