My week.....

We celebrated Brian's birthday on Sunday - when he was presented with our family version of Black Forest Gateaux! (I didn't get a picture with the candles on his cake, but he was 980 this year!)

Evie did the decorating with the cherries on top..... and we all helped scoff the cake.... yum!

The rest of this week was taken up with a bit of crafting for a homeschoolers mini-market that we were involved in.

My kids went through their toys trying to decide what they wanted to part with...

this was an easy task for Isaac who just had in his mind a vision of the resulting 'spondoolies' he would get from selling some of his 'pre-loved' treasures, but for Evie......

well, we had tears just THINKING about parting with one of her menagerie of soft toys, so she didn't have quite as full a stall as she could have!

However, they both had a little side venture to help boost funds......

Isaac did a 'guess-how-many-lollies-in-the-jar' game and made a tidy little profit (which he promptly spent on other childrens' pre-loved 'treasures',

Evie made up bags of caramel popcorn and sold the lot..... (she also spent ALL of her profit on other goodness, including another soft toy!!! Oh joy!)

Here are a few of the other 'bits and bobs' that graced our stall:

::cute necklaces::

::beaded bookmarks::

::crocheted flower brooches and hair clips::

::covered button hair ties::

::needle felted hair ties::

:: and here is Evie trying her hand at needle felting::

I had to shut my eyes while she did this..... it was just too scary to watch - a 3 inch barbed needle and Evie 'my-mind-is-usually-in-la-la-land' do not make for comfortable viewing!

Hope you have had a fun and creative week......
