I love it when a plan comes together......

In March this year I wrote a post which included a little photo of a top that I had purchased from the op-shop with the intention of taking my seam ripper to it so that I could make a pattern and then sew up another one in a more - well, 'me' kinda fabric.

This week I was in the op-shop again (gotta love the op-shops!) and picked up a bolt of grey knit fabric for the princely sum of $6 (for what was left on the bolt - which was quite a few meters I have to say) and decided that this was the fabric that I would have a go at making my first top with.

It's not in its completely finished state yet - I still have to hem the sleeves and bottom but you get the idea......

I have to say I am quite pleased with the result - fits quite nicely - works in well with my black, grey, white winter wardrobe - and has kept those stretchy-knit fabric-demons at bay......

The top looks lovely, I really like the kind that tie at the front. I've been thinking of making a cardigan with that stretchy knit fabric, but I'm still worried that I'll mess it up! Well done for facing those demons! :) x
