Just a little side line......

whilst granny blanketing.

I have ended up with LOTS of little balls of wool left over. You see, one 50g ball of wool does two full rows of colour on the granny blanket with just a little to spare.

So, having admired many round cushion covers like the ones I've seen here and here, I decided that I could use up all these little odds and ends in making a stripey cushion cover to match my stripey granny blanket.....

(I have a feeling that the ones on The Royal Sisters blog are a little beyond me at the moment.... though I would like to have a go at a 'fancy' one sometime...... maybe Grandma's Sweet as Pie or Grandma Violet Cushion, what do you think?)

And so, crochet hook in hand and bag of little oddments at my side I have started.....

I have no idea what I am doing, apart from the fact that it MUST just be a bit like making the stripey crochet bag bottom section till it is about the size of your cushion insert and then......

well, winging it.....

I'll let you know how it turns out......

N.B. I must just say that the yellow and green stripes next to each other is jarring on me a bit, but I am going to get over it and not be dictated to by coloured wool ...... so there!

Gorgeous colours, Deborah. And I think the green and yellow look great together among the other colours and also prove your cred as a temporary Aussie!
