Why, oh why, do I do it?.....

I say 'I' because I don't want to tar anyone else with the same brush..... but I am pretty sure that there are a fair few of you who are guilty of the same thing.....

why I ask you, do I leave it to the last day or two to make items of clothing for a holiday that I have known was going to happen for at least three months?

I found myself this week hastily making some white leggings for evie..... she has yet to learn the lesson of modesty whilst wearing a skirt and, as she will have a couple of skirts with her on our holiday, I thought it best to 'cover all bases' so to speak.....

then I thought that it would be nice to have a skirt like the one I made evie last week, so I decided to make one of those for me to wear...... 

I used fabric I already had here at home {you'll recognise the demin {not that you can see much of it in the photo but it does account for two of the three outer panels} and the front panel was a remnant from the dress I made for evie last year......

no modelling photos I'm afraid.... I don't do modelling... apart from maybe a hat or two.....

I actually did want to make myself a blouse too and wondered if I could squeeze it in this afternoon, but sadly it didn't happen {and we had chilli for tea, Anabel, not pizza.... you would've been proud of me.....} I just found too many other little jobs to finish off {like packing} and my afternoon/evening has run away with me.....

anyway, before I sign off and go away for a nice sunny holiday, I thought I would show you the contents of a lovely parcel I received yesterday from my sister....

I won't see you for a couple of weeks..... I'll be too busy sitting on a beach somewhere sunny or screaming my lungs out with the kids on some scarey ride at a theme park...... oh joy.....
