and then there was the laptop sleeve.....

after my last post.....
the one about the camera cozy.....
I did what I often do......
I flitted to the next thing on my 'things-to-do-before-my-trip' list.....

actually I don't have a list as such....
it just kind of tumbles around in my brain.....
which frightens Brian quite a lot because he knows what a last minute kind of girl I am and he's worried...... really worried.....

anyway, as I was saying, I flitted from the camera cozy
{comments MORE THAN welcome if you have any,
just scroll down to the next post to see what I am jabbering on about......}
to a laptop sleeve.....

same requirements as camera cozy really....
just to stop my laptop from being knocked about on the
MAMMOTH JOURNEY
I am about to take with two kids in tow.....

have I mentioned that the journey time is gonna be something like 42 hours door to door........
seriously......
going stateside adds some time
AND we have an 8 hour lay over in L.A.
AND we get to have the 2nd of December TWICE......
man, this is really a MAMMOTH trip
BUT I am very much looking forward to seeing my peeps and eating
MOUNTAINS of Galaxy chocolate.....

well, without further ado, here is my 'sleeve' so far.....

utilising an old woollen blanket purchased from the local op shop,
a couple of pieces of the fabric picked up at the crafty garage sale a couple of weeks ago,
and some of my mountain of embroidery floss,
which I still have even though I haven't done any embroidery since I was a teenager,
I have got this far......

as you can see we are still at the
'let's-use-a-couple-of-pins-to-keep-it-shut-so-that-we-can-see-what-it-looks-like' stage......

I think it needs a little bit more of this,
and a little bit more of that and then it will be just fine......

now, I've also managed to make a pair of evie's pj pants into shorts
because she put her knee right through them a few days ago and make a breakfast cake.....
I'll let you know about that one when it has cooled and I have managed to munch on some.....

Oh Deborah, I've FOUND you at last! That lap top cosy is magnificent. I can tell you are making good use of those fabrics. I have one too, remind me to show you sometime. I made it out of one of my dad's old jumpers, so I carry him with me every day to school. It's not as fancy as yours, but then I'm not going on a 42 hour trip - just 6 hrs to Mildura!

Now that looks really cosy Deb. I made one too (aren't we all alike ) and I put a bit of a tab and buckle on mine to keep it closed, must show you mine too. It works really well and I've found myself popping the mac in there as soon as I've finished with it, eeek, that's too tidy for me isn't it..?
