I'm not feeling down, but this weekend I've had a little project in mind....
a little 'for going on my holidays' project.....
it's not that exciting, so I hope your expectations are aimed quite low for this post......
I've been using an old yoga mat that I picked up in the op shop.....
and an vintage pillow case......
and making this......
'what is it?' I hear you cry....
Brian and the kids had quite a giggle thinking up numerous uses for it....
but it's actually SUPPOSED to be a cozy little wrap for my big girl camera....
how's that for a 'blog finished' closure at the bottom?
the finished article will have a button or something else.......
you see, when I travel 'up north' in a couple of weeks time I will have numerous pieces of big luggage
AND two children with their own hand luggage
AND myself with my hand luggage and I don't want to have any extra bags to keep track of
for things like my camera and my laptop ....
{I'm travelling with the kids but without Brian on the way there,
so the less I have to keep track of the better off we will all be.....
don't want to leave a kid lying around somewhere by accident now do I.....}
so I had it in mind to try and make a cozy that would protect the camera enough
so that it can be put into my backpack with some other bits and bobs
and so that I wouldn't have to worry about leaving it lying around somewhere in the big
{boring} camera bag that it normally travels in....
I'm not planning on tossing my backpack around so the cover doesn't have to be rigid....
just enough to cushion the camera....
what do you think?
am I barking up the wrong tree here?
should the straps be a bit longer and meet/overlap at the bottom?
should I just give up?
I don't quite know what I think yet.....
this is just my first try, there are a couple of niggly bits to work out
but I wanted to run it past you all first to see if you have any 'helpful hints' or suggestions
that you thought might be good for me to keep in mind.....
on a more exciting note.....
Spotlight had all their printed flannel on sale for 99c a metre so I picked up a few metres today
and am going to make Isaac, Evie and myself some new flannel pj bottoms
for the chilly Christmas weather we are going to be having this year.....
woo hoo.....
