Ahhhh, books.......

Picked up a couple of books from the library yesterday.

Have I mentioned before that I LOVE the library? I even managed to work in one for a spell whilst studying at Uni.... I probably spent far too much time reading instead of sorting, shelving and organising, but no matter, I enjoyed it while it lasted.

I'm doing all I can to instill a deep love of libaries into my kiddos too - whilst having a day out in the city of Adelaide during our mini-vacation there earlier in the year, my two were more than happy when we suggested that perhaps we could spend some time browsing in the state/city library..... my cunning brainwashing plan is working.....

I especially like the online ordering facility which I have mastered over the past year or so. I can search for a book I like the look of from anywhere around the State and have it delivered to my local library for easy pickup!

they arrive just like magic.... what is there not to love?

Anyway back to the library pick up yesterday....

I had read a little about
this book recently and thought I would like a little gander for myself...

my immediate thoughts were 'goodness gracious, I shall never be able to make head nor tail of all this', but that is more to do with my lack of sewing experience rather than the fault of the book.

The book itself is well written and Cal talks you through everything step by step, so given enough time (and old bed sheets to try things out on) I should get somewhere.....

I really love the thought of making my own clothes, as I have mentioned before, and this book would give me all the help I need to make, not just clothes for myself, but for the little-est person in my life.

The other book I picked up was Jamie's Italy....

I do quite enjoy Jamie Oliver's style and on first inspection, this book looks like it has some quite fabby recipes in.....

....it has also inspired me to start planning a holiday in Italy.... beautiful place.... good food..... win, win I say!

Ciao!
