we have some dear friends who are about to embark on a
bit of a life changing expedition......
much like the one we embarked on nearly 3 years ago.....
{can it really be that long?......}
as a 'little minding' {as my mum puts it} we are sending a
photo and a few words to be included in a book that is being
put together for them......
now instead of just sending your average 'family photo'
{not that there is anything wrong with a nice family photo,
except that we never seem to be able to get one
that we are all happy with......or one where
we look even vaguely normal.......}
we look even vaguely normal.......}
I am sending an alternative family portrait.......
inspired by Jane at teawagontales we decided to go for the 'loo roll' option
{another 'loo roll family' I have admired in ages past is from Lucy at attic24}
we spent some fun time deciding on our outfits for the photo shoot
{well, the kids and I did...... Brian didn't get a say......
he was at work...... poor thing}
and then we had to make sure that the hair was styled
'just so'........
{again, all except Brian, who actually doesn't
have much hair to speak of........ especially after he has
visited his favourite stylist for a little buzz and a good chit-chat...........
hence he didn't get any 'styling'...... but he did, as a little recompense,
get eyebrows....... lucky him......}

we decided that crocheted scarves were the way to go as it is
decidedly wintery here at the moment and we felt we needed to
be rugged up to show our 'real selves' at this moment in time........
and so here we are, in all our 'glory'.......
a fine family portrait if I do say so myself......
