long {but not long enough in my humble opnion} weekend antics......

why do weekends go so fast?
already the long weekend is drawing to a close and I don't feel I am
ready to let go of it yet......

I did manage to sit on my derriere, with a woolly blanket upon my knees,
for a significant amount of time this weekend though,
and did indeed make a couple of apple covers.......

I did want there to be three
because my sister is always telling me that things need to be grouped in *threes*

- it's a pleasing sight to be sure -

but I only had two apples 

{note to self: go shopping for fruit and veg tomorrow} 

and so two apples covers was my limit......

for now........

two luscious granny smiths in jaunty jackets....

what fun......

as well as cladding two grannies in their new jackets I also managed
to slip in a little baby vest knitting.....

I am pleased to announce that I very, very nearly finished a Pebble baby vest......

but {and yes, there is a but} because I don't do gauge swatches and the like 

{which I know I should, but really I can't be bothered}......

I am going to rip it out rather than finishing it off.....

you see, it's too small..... dinky infact
and as I want to be sure that this baby vest will actually fit a real baby
{rather than evie's dolly}
I decided to knit with two strands of wool
{the dark and the light green slubby ones together}
and go up a needle size........

now it's got a great variagated look to it.....
and it's proper toasty warm......

{what about those cool stitch markers I've got.......
bet you wish you had some just like them......}

so there we go.....

two apple jackets crocheted......

a baby vest almost......

but not quite finished.....
another baby vest {on the go......}

the whole of the first issue of 'mollie makes' read {and thoroughly enjoyed......}

lots of cups of coffee savoured.....

and about a dozen buns consumed.....

{there was also a little bit of hookie going on, a movie {or two},
lots of board games with the kids
{which included a little bit of gambling.....oooooohhhhhh},

lazing in bed late in the morning, a little bit of dinner making
{but really as little of that as was possible}
and lots of other lazy type nonsense too......}

a very pleasing weekend all round.....
