now onto other things......

it's been a quiet weekend here in the cottage.....

not a lot of craftiness has transpired I'm afraid......

but we were involved in a mad frenzy of 'having the chop'......

this was isaac a couple of months ago during one of his 'mad-scientist' experiment moments.....
see all those curls? I have no idea where they came from but he just let them grow and grow......
and grow...... for a couple of years......
with as little brushing as he was able to get away with without them becoming dreadlocks.....

what I discovered this weekend though was that my boy still has ears which was,
it has to be said, a lovely discovery after them remaining 'undercover' for a couple of years......

{and what lovely little ears they are too, I thought to myself.......
now he will need to be more attentive to cleaning behind them...... ha, ha}

and i, having spent the last 10 years with shoulder to 'half-way-down-my back' length hair,
decided it was time for a change too.......

here is a webcam photo of moi {hence the rubbish quality}.....
just to give you an idea of the general way my hair has looked for a decade.......
sometimes it's been a little shorter and sometimes a little longer,
but mainly it's just kinda been like this.....

and now it looks like this......
{a rather blurry self portrait I'm afraid, but you know how it is trying to take your own photo,
holding the camera with one hand, pressing the shutter button with the other.....
it's all a bit much trying to get it in focus too......}

the hairdresser was a little unsure about my request to 'lop it all off'
but I convinced her that it was for the best and she duly gathered it all into a pony tail
and cut the whole thing off......

since I only frequent the hairdresser every year to 18 months it'll probably
 be just as long again next time I go......

Brian joined in the 'mad frenzy' and had his usual 6mm all over buzz cut courtesy
of the beautiful at-home stylist he has been using for the past 20 years......
she does a rather spiffy job it has to be said and all payment is 'gifts in kind'
 {namely cake or chocolate}.......
 preferably accompanied with a cup of coffee......
