phew......

it's been a busy weekend.....

saturday included lots of baking.......

first up....... these are called cornflake florentine slice and the recipe came from the side of {surprisingly enough} a cornflake packet..... I wrote out the recipe here if you want to have a go at them..... they are actually quite yummy.....

instead of putting the chocolate on the bottom {as per the recipe} and then putting the conflake mixture on top, I baked the cornflake mixture first and, because I didn't have as much chocolate as the recipe required, decided that drizzling it over the top would be a better course of action.......

unfortunately the baking paper decided to stick to the bottom of the cornflake mix......

'never fear' I told my family at morning tea..... 'it adds to the fibre content of the slice'......

they guzzled the slice, caring not that there were little-ish pieces of baking paper stuck to the bottom..... my brood are quite undiscerning at times it has to be said..... especially where food is concerned...... phew.......

next up, I baked a batch of chocolate brownies...... recipe here...... this is my 'go to' recipe - it never fails.......

I also had a baby shower to enjoy....... {to which the brownies accommpanied me}..... nothing like a bit of chocolate when you are expecting a baby...... or when you are visiting with a friend who is expecting a baby......

I made the 'new-little-person-soon-to-be-here' a couple of flannel baby blankets....

and as I don't know if this little one will be of the boy variety or the girl variety I made one in a cute blue polka dot and one in a pink polka dot.... {I know that seems a little predictable, but I was a little limited in my choice of flannel this time around..... pah!}

I made a little tag for each of them and 'drew' {with the help of Miss B} little love hearts on them..... a baby can never have too much love don't you agree.....

I decided to package them up in a cloth bag with some more 'love' attached..... I guess the mamma could use this for storing something in once the blankets are in use.....

and today we had a load of little people over for lunch and play..... phew again.....

this time evie made one of her scrum-diddly-umptious victoria cream sponges much like the one she made a couple of weeks ago...... I didn't even get the chance to snap a photo of that one..... little people can put cake away at an alarming rate I've discovered......

and now, it's time for monday to roll back around and for our week to begin......

hope your weekend was a happy one.......
