Two and a bit years ago I decided I would like to have two lap quilts to sit on my sofa in the front room for those cold winter evenings when the woodburner is lit and you like to snuggle up with your beloved whoever they may be. I used colours that would tie in with my crimson feature wall and draw things together. Ho, hum!
Well, I no longer live in the house with crimson feature wall (we have no feature walls in our house now unless you count the brick wall in the front room and I am not a fan of 1970's exposed brickwork so I don't count it!) but the lap quilts are finally finished and, as we brought the sofa with us they still look lovely on there! I made the easy-peasy quilt (having never really made a quilt before I wanted to start easy!) so just made them from 3.5inch squares, put on a 3.5inch border and cross hatched them..... simple. Why did it take so long then? We may never know, but I am glad they are there ready for the colder days acoming...
I also had to leave behind all my wicker baskets so I have been furiously buying new-to-me ones from the op shops and have found some lovely gems. I got a rectangular one with a handle and lined that with a crimson gingham fabric and it makes a lovely book basket now..... I love op shops, I really do!

Lovely colours Debbie, you'll all be able to cosy up when the cold weather arrives.
Love the quilt Debbie - that'll keep everyone's knees warm. Where's the pic. of the pretty basket then?
