Just an addition to my 'domestic goddess' image....

Something I've been wanting to make for a while is an apron, or pinny as I like to call them. They seem very taken with the apron here in Australia and I have seen so many lovely designs that I have 'oo-ed' and 'ah-ed' over but happened upon this pattern and decided it was the perfect one for me in my domestic goddess mode! (I can't imagine I will ever be able to bring myself to wear it while I do something very messy, it's just too pretty!!) I only used 75cm of each of the 3 fabrics so it was quite economical to make.

I only altered it slightly... I didn't want the ruffle around the bottom and I made the bottom skirt piece a little less A-line than it was in the pattern, but everything else I left unchanged. I am not a seasoned seamstress in any sense of the word and apart from one or two little blips I managed to sew this up quite easily.

I've just had a read (and a laugh) through the .....'How to be a good Wife' list from a 1950's home economics book (this was first introduced to me whilst living in a shared house in Bristol - fond memories!!) and am now off to put a ribbon in my hair and bake some buns....

Tarrar for now....

This is the fabric on the other side, it is a reversible pinny after all!
