This could seriously damage your health........

Over on the other blog yesterday I mentioned that I was going to try making a Florentine slice with corn flakes.

It was another of those free recipes you get on the 'side of the box' and I sometimes like to have a go at them....... I have been mightily surprised by some of them let me tell you.

For instance the recipe for the Lemon Syrup Cake I've made a couple of times came from the back of a package of caster sugar I think and it is just scrum-diddily-umptious.

So when we finished our last box of cornflakes I made sure I kept the recipe printed on the side and today was the day for trying it out.

Let's just say I was not disappointed with this one either.....

Aren't the daisies lovely..... I really enjoy having daisies in an egg cup on my table......

Here's the recipe..... try it...... we have Coles supermarket to thank!

You'll need:

200g milk chocolate (you could easily use dark choc if you prefer)
2.5 cups of cornflakes
1 cup of dried fruit (I used sultanas but cranberries would be delish too I reckon)
1/2 cup of chopped nuts (I used peanuts)
3/4 cup of condensed milk
1 tsp cinnamon

Melt the chocolate and spread it over the base of your slice tray (I used a 20cm square brownie pan for mine). Chill the chocolate until set.
Mix all the other ingredients in a bowl and then press them over the chocolate with a spoon.
Bake in an oven at 180 degrees (or 160 degrees if it is fan forced) for 15 mins.
Cool (I used my fish slice to press it down again just to make sure it stuck together as it cooled)
Refrigerate until completely set then cut up and scoff huge quantities whilst placing a few pieces into a tin for the rest of the family to enjoy later.

p.s. I just made a second batch of this (yes it only lasted just over a day!) and I used dried apricots and cranberries as my dried fruit....... yep, just as yummy!
